My goal tonight is bed before 9, so this will be quick. I don’t have much to say anyways. I am so disgusted with myself that I haven’t been taking care of business. I used to be someone who thrived on pressure, but now I feel like I completely shut down if I have more than one thing to do. Plus, why the frick am I so tired?!? Is it jet-lag? An oncoming cold? What??
I have some goal-setting to do in the morning, so I’ll do a quick food recap for now. I tried a sample from Annie Chun’s for lunch.


I bulked it up with some shredded carrots.

And had a Zevia (x2),

and finished with chocolate chips.

And later in the afternoon Adam and I took a note from last night’s dinner and ate a humungous bowl of popcorn.

Blegh.
I need advice What do you do to get motivated?
ugh I struggle with motivation. But usually I write down my goal and think about it at night before I go to sleep. that usually does it for me!
going to the career center for a meeting on my resume updating, or potential jobs, usually gets me motivated. I am reminded how competitive and scary it is looking for jobs and I get my butt in gear!
Also just having a good big meal can get me motivated to accomplish a long to-do list because I feel I have the energy to burn and the stamina to get through the daunting list!

I struggle with motivation. I either give it 100% or nothing, I am totally all or nothing. Sometimes I need days where I give nothing and do nothing because it forces me to rest up before my go-non-stop days. Just hang in there — it will be easier!
Hey there! I totally can relate to how you’re feeling! I find that I need to schedule my time and usually need to get out of the house to get it done (with school work and studying, etc.). It really helps to set very specific blocks of time aside. I hope this helps!
I think of a time when I felt happier and healthier when I was doing stuff and getting things accomplished! That kicks my motivation into gear.
I also like to break it down into lists and cross stuff off when I’m done.
Oh, can I ever relate. Not only was I like that ALL summer – but this last week has been a doozy for me. I check my email instead of grading tests. I talk on the phone instead of filing papers. I just feel blaaaaaaah.
What I usually do to deal with this is workout. It’s the one thing I can get behind, finish, and feel accomplished. Baking and cleaning also help. Those are short tasks that I can get finished and feel good about. Good luck – let me know if you find a fantastic cure. I could use it this week.

PROPS! i am lucky to get to bed before midnight. sorry about the lack of motivation. i still have a tad of vacation mode in me and after working 10 hour days at work i just feel beat! if you find that motivation send it my way would ya? 😉 p.s. thanks for the sweet email. i was SO happy to meet you too!! i hope we can meet again sometime!!
