Productive? No. Fun? Hells yes! I am so glad the husband talked me into ignoring my work and spending a fun date day with him! Equally exciting? Some of my new shirts have built in hoods!

His favorite book growing up was Where the Wild Things Are so we went to go see the movie today. He bribed he there with promises of splitting a thing of pretzel bites.

Yums. The movie was pretty good. They didn’t follow the book very well but it was pretty visually stunning. We both appreciated that they didn’t include a bunch of adult humor; in fact, there wasn’t very much dialogue at all.
We walked to the bank once we got home (I got a very exciting last check from my old school) and it turned into a nature walk!

We followed Mother Nature’s lead once we got home and did some decorating of our own.

Now we are going to watch an old episode of Bones and curl up on the couch with our leftovers from The Cheesecake Factory.

I opened a Zevia to drink with my meal.

Ginger ale might be my new favorite.
All I really plan on doing today now is cooking dinner! So I’ll be back with that.
What was your favorite childhood book? I have bazillions (my mom was a librarian). If I had to choice I’d say Bread and Jam for Francis or The Little Mouse, The Ripe Red Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear. Now my husband and I call each other Mouse and Bear so the book ended up being very telling!
I can’t wait to see that movie! 🙂
And the nature walk is beauuutiful
Awesome pictures…I also have a billion favorite childhood books, my mom was a preschool teacher. “Where the Wild Things Are” was a favorite, but the all time favorite was called “Ultra-Violet Catastrophe” – about a little girl who liked to climb trees and play in the mud. So good.
so glad you had a nice day with adam! i love the photos, they are gorgy. enjoy your evening em!
what a fun day! good movie and a walk outside 🙂
Lovely date day!
My favorite book growing up: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe!
