Jalapeño Popper Burgers

This delicious burger tastes just like a jalapeno popper, but it’s much healthier!  The following recipe is for 6 servings.

  • 1lb 99% lean ground turkey
  • 6oz 1/3 less fat cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup pickled jalapeños, minced (if you go with fresh jalapeno I’d use one or two small peppers)
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1t evoo
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar (optional)
  1. Combine turkey, cream cheese, minced peppers, and bread crumbs in a large bowl.  Use your hands (get dirty!) to blend the mixture.  Split into 6 portions.
  2. Spread evoo evenly over a grill pan on medium high heat.
  3. Form 6 even balls and then flatten them into patties and place on the grill pan.  Grill until cooked through, about 7 minutes on each side.

Optional – Sprinkle 2T of cheese on each patty and broil until the cheese is gooey and browned, about 2 minutes.
