This delicious burger tastes just like a jalapeno popper, but it’s much healthier! The following recipe is for 6 servings.
- 1lb 99% lean ground turkey
- 6oz 1/3 less fat cream cheese
- 1/3 cup pickled jalapeños, minced (if you go with fresh jalapeno I’d use one or two small peppers)
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1t evoo
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar (optional)
- Combine turkey, cream cheese, minced peppers, and bread crumbs in a large bowl. Use your hands (get dirty!) to blend the mixture. Split into 6 portions.
- Spread evoo evenly over a grill pan on medium high heat.
- Form 6 even balls and then flatten them into patties and place on the grill pan. Grill until cooked through, about 7 minutes on each side.
Optional – Sprinkle 2T of cheese on each patty and broil until the cheese is gooey and browned, about 2 minutes.
