This recipe serves 1, but can easily be modified for a larger crowd.
- 2slices ww bread
- 1T butter/substitute
- (optional) maple syrup and chopped fruit
- 1egg
- 1/2C skim milk
- shake nutmeg
- shake cinnamon
- 1T vanilla
- Place everything but 1st 3 ingredients in a shallow bowl and stir to combine.
- Add bread and let soak, at least 4minutes. Flip once or twice to distribute evenly; you should let it sit until all of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Heat pan over medium high heat and add butter. Melt and swirl to coat pan.
- Add bread slices 1 by 1, being careful not to overlap. Let cook until golden, about 3minutes on each side.
- Plate and serve with fruit and syrup.
