Welcome to My 1st Giveaway

My 1st2nd food blog ever is a pretty festive event so I am celebrating with a giveaway.  It runs until noon on Saturday, July 4th (another festive date).  The rules are outlined below.  What am I giving away?  A Flogg.

The fancy (slightly erotic sounding) name basically means a food and exercise log.  The Flogg is a small leather bound book with pages set up to record calorie expenditures and gains.  There is also a reference section in the back with calories for common foods and calories burned for common exercises.

Research has shown that keeping a written record can help you to stick to, and achieve, a goal.  My mom bought me this book as a gift after I spotted a giveaway at Tina’s blog and got intrigued.  It turned out that the Flogg was a little too detailed for me, especially because I already keep a blog, but I think it could be a great tool for someone else.

I will be sending one lucky winner (choosen using a random integer generator) my brand new Flogg free of charge.  The giveaway ends at noon on Saturday, July 4th.  To win -

  2. I love the idea of a flogg (especially b/c of the fun name hehe)! Right now, I keep track of my food on my blog, but I’ve also kept notes on my iphone and in notebooks before. I find it really helps me understand where my energy comes from and what it goes to.

  5. Congrats on your fresh start!!! And what a great way to mark it, with a brand new blog. :) I will update the Google reader immediately! I used to keep a food/fitness journal, but have actually just recently let it go. Feels great so far!

    i’ve heard of the thing called flogg…funny name. i used to keep a meticulous journal of all my eats, but i slowly weaned away from it. i would love to get back to it and keep myself accountable. ^^

    The new blog looks/sounds great!

    I don’t reeeeally keep an organized journal, but occassionally i tally my food and/or exercise in the margins of my notebooks. Especially when i am bored at work during meetings. I think it is helpful for really ascertaining my daily intake/outgo (outtake?).

  16. love the FLOGG! i use my planner/Gmail calendar to kind of keep an exercise log, although i don’t keep a food log because i found it way too obsessive. however, i would love a FLOGG to keep me on track for my upcoming marathon!

    I have been intrigued by the FLOGG for a long time now. I currently use the Daily Plate (through http://www.livestrong.com) to record exercise and food, but I’ve always been slightly old-fashioned in that I like having writing stuff out by hand! It would also be nice to not feel so tied to my computer all the time ;)
